The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food preparation and eager to help in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting.
Duties
Assist chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation tasks as required.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to ensure a safe working environment.
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen items promptly and efficiently.
Help with the organisation of storage areas, ensuring that all items are stored correctly and safely.
Support the cooking team during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed.
Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain recycling practices within the kitchen.
Follow health and safety regulations to maintain hygiene standards at all times.
Skills
Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff.
