The Meikleour Arms is looking for a Kitchen Porter
for their award winning country inn and restaurant (AA BEST GUEST ACCOMMODATION 2022, AA BEST PUB SCOTLAND 2019)
The Meikleour Arms (4 Star Gold, 1 Rosette) has been in the same country estate for 200 years and is at the centre of the beautiful village of Meikleour near Blairgowrie. It is a high-end small country hotel attracting a varied customer base all year long: locals, salmon anglers, golfers, shooting parties and holiday makers.
Job description: The Kitchen Porter is an essential part of the kitchen and you must be comfortable working within a team under time pressure. The main duties are: collect and wash up pots and pans, operate the dishwasher. Ensure that basic cleaning jobs are carried out as quickly as possible. Clean food preparation areas and equipment, in addition to crockery and cutlery following the correct protocols. Unload food and equipment deliveries. Basic food preparations for which you will receive training.
Responsibilities
Assist in food preparation by washing, chopping, and organising ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas, including dishwashing and sanitising surfaces.
Support chefs and kitchen staff by ensuring timely delivery of supplies and ingredients.
Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and service efficiency.
Hourly pay = 15.13/hour (13.50/hour rate+ holiday pay = 15.13) and in addition you will receive tips from around 1.50/hour
(tips from an HRMC compliant Tronc system).
That means a package more than 16/hour which reflects how much we value and expect from our Kitchen Porter.

Our hotel can be a dynamic working environment and requires its staff to enjoy working as part of a team: punctuality, enthusiasm, team spirit and stamina are all key.
Meikleour Arms Hotel is in a rural areawith limited public transport, particularly on weekends. There are buses through the village for a finish after 6 pm. Please do not apply if you don't have your own transport to get to us.
