Duties

Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to ensure a hygienic environment. Support chefs during service by ensuring that all necessary ingredients and tools are readily available. Help with the washing up of dishes, pots, and pans, ensuring they are cleaned and stored correctly. Dispose of waste and maintain proper recycling practices within the kitchen. Assist in stock rotation and inventory management as required. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant kitchen is advantageous. Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills is beneficial. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. A keen interest in culinary arts and hospitality is essential. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills to liaise with chefs and other kitchen staff.
