KITCHEN PORTER - start date Sept 2025 - salary 12.21 p/h, term time only

Your opportunity

We are seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team at our secondary school in Woking. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong willingness to learn.

Our catering team comprises a Head Chef and Catering Assistants, creating bespoke menus and delicious home-cooked food for our main school and sixth form cafe.

Hours

15 hours per week, 12:00 to 3:00pm,

term time only

The role

You will work as part of a team in assisting with all aspects of the preparation and presentation of our delicious fresh foods You will ensure all washing up is carried out during and after service (and sweep and mop after service) Ensure cleaning schedule tasks are completed as necessary, keeping the kitchen equipment clean and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness. Carry out duties as required by the Head Chef. There will be other kitchen and catering duties which may be considered necessary for the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen, service area and dining area You will be expected to comply with Food Handling & Hygiene standards and Health & Safety regulations

About you

Catering experience is desirable, but we are always happy to train the right person A passion for food is a must Present yourself in a professional, well-groomed manner Demonstrate an ability to work quickly but efficiently and keep calm, under pressure Be an excellent team player Demonstrate exceptional timekeeping and reliability Have a committed and organised approach Have the ability to follow instructions You will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
