Job Summary

We are currently searching for an enthusiastic, reliable and spirited Kitchen Porter to join our established kitchen brigade, led by Chef Matt Gillan.

As a kitchen porter, you will be the powerhouse for the kitchen, assisting the chefs with the cleaning of cutlery, crockery and preparation equipment, whilst also maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic working area. As well as these duties, you may well also be engaging in preparation of fresh ingredients and assisting the Head Kitchen Porter with orders.

This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in the culinary field and contribute to a vibrant hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces Ensure all dishes and cookware are cleaned, sanitised, and stored properly Support chefs during service by preparing ingredients and assisting with cooking as needed Help with inventory management by keeping track of stock levels and reporting shortages to the Head Kitchen Porter Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential Familiarity with food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills is advantageous Experience in hospitality or hotel environments will be considered a plus A passion for culinary arts and a willingness to learn from experienced chefs Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
