The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and associated areas. This includes washing up, cleaning equipment and surfaces, disposing of waste correctly, and supporting the wider kitchen team with basic tasks as needed. The role ensures the kitchen operates smoothly, safely, and in line with hygiene regulations.

THE ROLE:



Wash all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, and cutlery to a high standard, using commercial dishwashing equipment. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, surfaces, storage areas, and bins. Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules as set by the Head Chef or Sous Chef. Dispose of waste and recycling in line with kitchen procedures and environmental policies. Re-stock clean crockery, utensils, and equipment to the correct kitchen sections. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage. Support chefs with basic food preparation tasks (e.g. peeling, chopping) as directed and if trained. Follow all health & safety and food hygiene regulations (e.g. COSHH, manual handling). Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly. Operation of our industrial dishwasher Washing pots, pans and trays Putting away deliveries Keeping refuse and delivery areas tidy Keeping chemical storage stocked and organised Offer a first class service and work as part of a team.
