Duties

Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs and cooks, ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Support the culinary team by helping with the organisation of ingredients and supplies. Ensure that all waste is disposed of properly and that recycling protocols are followed. Assist in receiving deliveries and storing food items appropriately. Help maintain stock levels by informing supervisors when supplies are low. Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous, particularly within restaurants or hotels. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is beneficial. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment. A proactive attitude towards helping others in the team, demonstrating excellent teamwork skills. Good communication skills to liaise effectively with chefs and other kitchen staff. A genuine interest in culinary arts and hospitality will be highly regarded.
