We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team within a vibrant hospitality environment. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in supporting the culinary team by ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals who are eager to develop their skills in a professional kitchen/Bakery setting.
Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation of ingredients for various dishes, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and cafe, including washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils and cleaning.
Help with the storage and organisation of food items, ensuring proper labelling and rotation.
Support chefs during service by providing timely assistance as required.
Clean kitchen and cafe equipment and work areas regularly to uphold health and safety regulations.
Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain recycling practices within the kitchen.
Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Requirements
Previous experience in a kitchen environment is essential.
Basic culinary skills or knowledge of food preparation processes would be beneficial.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining hygiene standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm under pressure.
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team within the hospitality sector.
Flexibility to work various day shifts, including most weekends as required.
