We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen environment, ensuring that our culinary team can focus on delivering exceptional dishes. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for food preparation and hospitality, and who thrive in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel setting.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use. Help with the delivery and storage of food supplies as they arrive. Support chefs and cooks during busy service periods by providing assistance as needed. Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Participate in regular cleaning schedules to ensure compliance with hygiene standards.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided. A keen interest in food preparation and culinary practices. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting. Excellent teamwork skills and a willingness to help others in the kitchen. Good communication skills to liaise with kitchen staff effectively. A proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the kitchen.

Pay: 12.21 per hour
