The Kitchen Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen is clean, organised, and fully stocked with necessary supplies. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the culinary field and contribute to a high-quality dining experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans. Assist in food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or cooks. Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and sanitised after use. Help with the storage of food items and supplies, ensuring proper stock rotation. Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance as needed. Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the kitchen management promptly.

Requirements

Previous experience in a hospitality or culinary setting is advantageous but not essential. A strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and grow within the role. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A passion for food and an interest in developing culinary skills is highly desirable. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
