Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a vibrant culinary environment. The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen area is clean, organised, and well-equipped for food preparation. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality and culinary sectors, particularly within hotels or restaurants.

Duties

Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs and kitchen staff. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Organise and store kitchen supplies and ingredients efficiently. Support the cooking team by preparing ingredients such as chopping vegetables or measuring out portions. Ensure that all areas of the kitchen are kept tidy and free from hazards. Help with the disposal of waste and recycling in accordance with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service periods.

Skills

A strong willingness to help and support others within a team environment. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is advantageous but not essential.

Previous

experience in a hotel

, restaurant, or culinary setting is essential ( Minimum 2 years)

Good understanding of hygiene standards and food safety practices. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail. A passion for hospitality and a desire to learn more about kitchen operations.
