As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen is clean, organised, and well-equipped for food preparation. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality and culinary sectors, particularly within hotels and restaurants.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans. Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs. Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use. Help with stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste. Support the culinary team during busy service periods by providing timely assistance. Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the kitchen management.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, or culinary setting is preferred but not essential. A strong work ethic with the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Excellent communication skills and a willingness to help others in a team environment. Basic understanding of food hygiene standards is advantageous. A passion for hospitality and a desire to learn about food preparation techniques.
