As a Kitchen Porter/Server, you will support both the kitchen and the front-of-house teams to ensure smooth and efficient service. Your role will involve maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, assisting with basic food prep, and stepping in to serve customers when needed.
This is a hands-on, flexible position that is essential to the smooth running of the cafe and catering operations.
Key Responsibilities: Kitchen & Equipment Support
Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently
Keep kitchen areas, surfaces, and floors clean, tidy, and safe
Help with basic food preparation tasks (e.g., peeling, chopping, plating support)
Ensure kitchen equipment is clean, stored properly, and ready for use
Follow cleaning schedules and complete checklists as required
Front-of-House Service
Deliver food and drinks to tables with a friendly and professional manner
Clear tables promptly and ensure the dining area remains clean and welcoming
Assist with taking orders, serving customers, and running food during busy periods
Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and handling requests politely
Hygiene & Safety
Maintain high standards of cleanliness in line with food hygiene and health & safety regulations
Follow allergen awareness and food safety practices at all times
Use cleaning products safely and report any hazards immediately
Teamwork
Work closely with both kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service
Support colleagues where needed, especially during busy service or catering events
Represent the cafe's friendly and professional values at all times

Requirements:
Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or a kitchen porter role is helpful but not essential - training will be provided

Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required
Flexibility to work varying shifts on a zero-hour contract basis
