Required Full time 37.5 hour per week all year round, worked 5 days over 7 Monday - Sunday, 6.30am - 2.30pm

Downe House is a leading independent boarding and day school for girls based in Cold Ash, Berkshire. We operate an in-house fully catered service for pupils and staff which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. In addition, we hold numerous catered events and formal dinners each year. As a leading independent boarding school, we take pride in everything that we do, including the delivery of nutritious, delicious, and well-presented meals to our pupils, staff, parents, and visitors.

We are looking for reliable and hardworking Stores & Delivery Assistant to join our friendly Catering team. You will support the Stores & Delivery Supervisor in the operation of the catering stores, receipting all kitchen goods, deliveries and stock control. You will also deliver catering requests to other areas of the school, such as departments and boarding houses. Ideally, you will have previous experience of working in catering/stores environment and have an understanding of food hygiene requirements, but full training will be given.

Main Duties

Assist the Stores and Delivery Supervisor with the daily receipt, booking off, stock control, issue and store management of all food and beverage supplies. Maintain the catering delivery area and stores to a high standard of cleanliness, including disposal of waste and recycling. Use IT systems to receive and collate all food and beverage requisitions via the school's management system and email. Deliver all requests to designated areas, boarding houses and individual departments across the school in a safe and efficient manner using school vehicles. Ensure Health and Safety and food safety procedures are in place and followed.
