About the Role




This role is part of the highly regarded Department of Catering, Leisure and Tourism, which delivers a variety of full-time, part-time, and short professional courses in Hospitality and Catering. Based in a realistic working environment, including a public-facing restaurant, the technician supports both student learning and customer service operations. Key responsibilities include assisting with restaurant bookings and event requests, managing stock control and goods ordering, receiving and safely storing deliveries, maintaining essential Environmental Health Officer (EHO) documentation, and liaising with suppliers to negotiate prices and delivery arrangements. The technician also plays a vital role in reporting maintenance issues and supporting the overall efficiency of front and back-of-house operations within the department and occasionally across the wider college.




About You




You will have, or be willing to work towards, a Food Safety and/or Health and Safety qualification at Level 1 or 2. Ideally, you will be educated to at least Level 2 with GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above or be prepared to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. With previous experience in the Hospitality and Catering industry, you will bring a solid understanding of the sector, along with a commitment to maintaining safe working environments. A strong awareness of health and hygiene standards and a proactive approach to safe working practices are essential for this hands-on and student-focused role.
