KS1 Teacher - Mixed Year 1/2 Class - York

Full Time | Small, nurturing primary school | Starting September

A lovely school in the York area is looking for a kind, confident KS1 Teacher to take on a mixed Year 1/2 class this September. This is a full-time role in a supportive, values-driven setting, and would suit someone who thrives in close-knit school communities where every child is truly known.

The class is made up of enthusiastic, curious learners who respond well to structure, creativity, and a calm, encouraging classroom. The school are looking for someone who can bring consistency, strong routines, and a bit of spark to help pupils make great progress both academically and emotionally.

What you'll be doing:

You'll lead a mixed Year 1/2 class with thoughtful planning and engaging delivery, adapting your approach to meet a wide range of early learning needs. You'll manage classroom behaviour with care and consistency, and build warm relationships with pupils, families and your wider team.

You'll work closely with the KS1 team to share ideas and keep things cohesive--and there's support in place where needed to help make the transition smooth.

Who we're looking for:

You'll need QTS and experience within Key Stage 1 (mixed-year experience is a bonus but not essential). What really matters is your ability to bring structure, kindness and energy to the classroom, and to balance nurture with high expectations.

Easily accessible from York and surrounding areas
Full-time | September start | Ongoing maternity cover (minimum 2 terms)
