We are looking for a knowledgeable and supportive freelance tutor to deliver the Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor qualification to adult learners. You will be responsible for delivering engaging sessions, assessing learner work, and supporting learners to achieve their qualification.
As one of our team you will assess learners in construction related qualifications and provide guidance to help them meet the necessary learning criteria. You will work with the internal team to apply the standards and assessment requirements of the related qualifications.
Duties involved:
Planning and delivering construction training programs.
Assessing and observing learners.
Examining and creating learners' portfolio of evidence
Enquiring for how learners would react in unusual situations in the workplace.
Providing feedback to learners for when standards have been missed.
Signing off units when assessment objectives have been met.
Portfolio management such as recording updates to assessment decisions.
Conduct assessments for construction-related qualifications, ensuring compliance with relevant awarding body standards and regulations.
Plan and deliver assessments in a variety of settings, mostly remote, plus on-site and in training centers.
Provide constructive feedback to learners, supporting their development and achievement.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date assessment records.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and software.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching and assessment for the Level 3 DEA course on a freelance basis.
Support and motivate learners to progress and achieve.
Prepare and maintain session plans, materials, and resources.
Ensure delivery meets awarding-body standards and compliance requirements.
Mark and assess learner work and provide constructive, timely feedback.
Maintain accurate records of learner progress and completion.
Participate in any required quality assurance activities.
Essential Criteria:
Teaching qualification (PTLLS/AET or equivalent).
Strong industry knowledge and occupational competence.
Experience teaching or supporting adult learners.
Excellent communication, organisation, and digital delivery skills.
Ability to work independently as a self-employed/freelancer.
Requirements of the role
Relevant assessor qualifications (e.g., A1, TAQA, CAVA).
Full UK driving license and access to own vehicle (desirable).
Construction industry experience.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Software Skills (preferred but not essential as training will be given)
Some experience of using online systems
Proficient in using assessment software and E-portfolio systems
Microsoft Suite software
