We have an opening to support our Pharmaceutical client within the Ayrshire area, offering Laboratory Support working within an integrated environment and with a well established team

Job Overview

The position is a flexible role across the lab instrument and technical lab support divisions of the service line at site. The role will include, but is not limited to,

  • Ensuring that Planned & Reactive Maintenance is completed within the specified time-frames and in accordance with the specified requirements
  • Undertaking Planned & Reactive Maintenance of HPLC & GC
  • Sub-contractor management
  • Stock management and eluent preparation
  • Instrumentation Performance Qualification Testing
  • Backfill support for PS lab
The role will require to support the 24/7 nature of the business, as a result weekends and bank holidays will require to be covered on occasion as per business needs.

Other Duties
  • The Laboratory Support Technician will be required to work flexibly, to encompass any urgent or unanticipated needs arising for increases or decreases in plant production schedules
  • Supporting with continuous Improvement projects and to identify cost savings opportunities
Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for routine & non-routine maintenance of HPLC & GC in accordance with clients process and validation requirements
  • Maintenance of the Asset list to ensure it is up-to-date at all times
  • All maintenance carried out within the scheduling window and in accordance with SLA & KPI requirements
  • Control of contractors under the LIS Scope
  • Providing cover in event of absence/holidays where required.
  • Accountable for adopting the ALCOA+ (attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original & accurate) principles.
  • Maintaining 100% in My Learning & Learning hub

  • Educated to degree level in a science or engineering subject (preferably chemistry).
  • Enthusiastic, hard working and shows willing
  • Confidence and communication skills to challenge behaviours and drive continuous improvement.
  • Can perform under pressure and independent of supervision

  • Works well as a team
  • Experience of working within a laboratory, GxP environment
  • Attention to detail & capability to work methodically to strict processes and procedures
  • Compliance with health and safety requirements
