Lab Technician
Job Description
We are looking for a Lab Technician to join our busy Lab and Technical Team. The ideal candidate should have at least 12 months of relevant experience in the industry, a strong technical and operational understanding of the post production process, attention to detail, and strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Carry out technical bookings in our Lab, covering Dailies, IO, QC, Deliverables, and Archiving.
Work autonomously, taking responsibility and ownership over tasks attributed to you and, when required, having oversight over tasks being carried out by junior team members.
Ensure all labs tasks are tracked and necessary data passed to Post Production Managers/Coordinators.
Advise on and implement the most efficient workflows, systems, and processes, ensuring they are to industry security standards and meet company policy.
Provide front-line technical support of our on-premises and remote edit systems.
Work with the Project and Technical Teams to fulfil delivery requirements.
Work closely with the lab team to identify areas of improvement and provide mentoring to other team members where appropriate and as required.
Providing support to Technical and Post Production Management teams as required.
This role has a weekend "on call" rota requirement.
Requirements
:Confident and proficient in using Avid Media Composer, Adobe Creative Cloud and DaVinci Resolve. Good knowledge of Shared Storage, Media Management, Asset Management and File Sharing Systems. Experience in using scheduling software, the Microsoft Office suite, as well as general IT competency with Mac or Windows operating-systems. A sound understanding of the principles, workflows, technologies and terminologies of Broadcast, HETV, VFX and Film Post Production. Experience of working within a fast-paced Broadcast and Film Post Production Facility. Proven track record in a senior technical and/or assistant editor role.

Ability to self-manage and work without supervision. Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and adaptable. Excellent communicator. Possess strong organisation, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Calm and methodical approach, particularly when under pressure. Strong multitasking skills while maintaining attention to detail.
