We are currently recruiting for an experienced rewinder to work in our finishing department. Typical responsibilities include inspecting, slitting, and rewinding printed label rolls into smaller, customer-specified roll sizes, ensuring they meet quality standards before packaging and dispatch.

Duties:

Operating the ABG SRI3 rewinder machine to slit large rolls of printed labels into narrower rolls. Inspecting labels for defects such as misprints, registration errors, colour issues, or die-cutting flaws. Counting labels or measuring roll lengths to meet customer specifications. Replacing cores, setting up slitting blades, and adjusting tension on the rewinder. Applying core labels, batch labels, or barcodes as needed. Packaging finished rolls ready for shipment or further processing. Reporting errors or faults to the print or finishing team for correction. Ensure daily schedules are met. Daily maintenance and care of rewind machinery.

Skills Needed:

Attention to detail and quality control. Diligent and a good work ethic. Ability to read job tickets/specifications accurately. High levels of numeracy. Experience with finishing machinery (rewinders, slitters). Basic mechanical aptitude for minor machine adjustments. Time management and efficiency. A pro-active, problem-solving approach.
The rewinder is the last line of defence for quality, so this role is critical in maintaining customer satisfaction and minimizing waste or returns.

36 hour working week:

- Monday to Thursday 7am till 3pm.

- Friday 7am till 1pm with early finish.
