New England Seafood International (NESI) was established in 1991 and is an importer and processor of premium fresh and frozen sustainable fish and seafood. NESI employs circa 850 people across three sites in the UK and imports a wide range of wild and farmed fish and shellfish from all around the world. JOB DESCRIPTION

Label Room Operative

Working Hours:

4 on 4 off - Shift Pattern TBC (05:00 - 17:00)

What is the purpose of this role?

To ensure that all labels, sleeves & packaging are controlled and issued to production correctly



Accountabilities / role measurement



Responsible for the stock control of the labels, sleeves and packaging within the internal stores. The issuing of labels, sleeves & packaging following the site procedures Date coding sleeves When requested by production produce the factory internal traceability labels Complete the required factory QR documents Issuing out and control the retail label rolls When requested by production Print off the required date coded sleeves Issuing the correct Quality Attribute Sheets Ensure that the label room door remains closed (authorised staff only inside) and locked if unattended Ordering stock Ensuring all labels, Sleeves and packaging has the correct traceability attached Ensuring the room is tidy, and complies with Factory Hygiene rules Manage the Promotional stickers, ensuring they are only released during the right dates Own the label change process: i.e. Quarantine old labels, release new labels, check the relevant IT programs for label change and update Product Matrix. Ensure the Ravenwood / outer case printing machines are updated prior any label change. Ensure Label Procedures are followed inside and outside of the label room. Conduct traceability and Label room spot checks on all primary areas and retail areas. Issuing the correct Quality Attribute Sheets Updating QAS when Artwork is changed Ensure any issues are highlighted trough the right channels i.e. T1, T2 Able to raise Non-conformances related to label control Support the investigation of any Label non-conformances using RCA to prevent a recurrence. Participate within customer visits and audits as required Support third party audits as required Support cross functional project work streams as and when required To be involved in project work /tasks as requested by the Quality Manager, Site Technical Manager or Compliance Team. To ensure the required technical documentation is in place, accurately populated and easy to retrieve. To address any non-conforming product and /or, activity quickly, ensuring that both the NESI brand and customer brands are protected.

What experiences, knowledge and capabilities do I need to demonstrate?



To be successful in this role you should be able to demonstrate recent experience in a similar role, preferably from a fast-paced manufacturing environment, coupled with strong technical and food safety knowledge.



Required:



Experience within a FMCG environment (preferred) Working knowledge of technical management systems Ability to influence Sound organisational skills Ability to work cross functionally over the organisation Ability to analyse data and support in the formulation of action plans Ability to work as part of a larger multi-site Technical team Ability to drive increased Technical Compliance through a coaching development style.
