Laboratory Manager

to manage the activities of the Contract Test Laboratory in the UK Branch Office of ACCI. You will be based onsite in our state-of-the-art facility in Academy Business Park, Knowsley.

The position is full-time working Monday-Friday 08.45 - 17.00

General Responsibilities:



Deal directly with customer telephone and email enquiries and provide quotations for analysis. Manage the correct booking in, storage, handling and disposal of customer samples. Organise analysis of customer samples for bacterial endotoxin and glucan concentration. Work with third party laboratory's to offer additional analytical services. Organise the analysis and certification of QC samples generated from ACCI ancillary products. Quality review sample documentation produced by the Laboratory Technicians. Produce or organise customer sample documentation and report results. Produce or organise documents for ACCI QC testing including the generation of certificates. Organise sample disposal and the generation of relevant documentation and records. Complete or organise customer invoicing through ACCI accounts. Control, maintain and archive documentation of customer and ACCI samples. Organise validation and maintain calibration of instrumentation and equipment used in the CTS. Maintain all CTS documentation for customer and internal audit and review. Apply good laboratory practices. Liaise with peers to meet cross department deadlines. Create, maintain and improve procedures within the Company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System for the Department. Requirement to work to GMP. Subject Matter Expert (SME) for activities in department. Supervise and manage departments PDP. Supervise staff awareness of Health and Safety procedures and maintain good practice and documentation within department, including any additional requirements for department specific equipment. Ensure staff are aware of Human Resource processes (and relevant documentation) and observe provisions set out in Company Handbook. Prepare, analyse and submit management information on a monthly basis. To be flexible and contribute fully within abilities to the Company's management and goals.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:



Supervisory / delegation skills Enhanced knowledge of the bacterial endotoxin assay Strong computer experience in Microsoft Office ACCI product knowledge High level of attention to detail Solid organisational skills Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems Ability to provide clear and concise instruction/information to others

Education and Experience:



Ideally have a scientific degree or working towards preferable Experienced in the standards of a GMP environment Proven managerial skills in a Laboratory environment Experience of dealing directly with customers
