Position Description:

The Maintenance Operative plays a hands-on role in supporting the delivery of a significant office and factory reorganisation project. Working closely under the guidance of the FHSE Manager, the role involves undertaking practical tasks such as moving equipment and machinery, basic construction work (e.g. erecting and removing walls), and installing furniture and fittings.

This role requires a practical, can-do attitude and a willingness to follow instructions precisely to ensure a safe and high-quality outcome.

Role and responsibilities



Support the relocation of machinery, workstations, and office furniture in line with project plans. Assist in the dismantling, construction, and re-erection of internal partitions and walls (e.g. plasterboard/stud walls). Help with installation of kitchen units, worktops, and other workplace fittings as required. Ensure all works are carried out safely, tidily, and in accordance with site rules and instructions from the FHSE Manager. Use hand and basic power tools safely and correctly. Support the preparation and clean-up of work areas before, during, and after tasks. Assist with unloading and moving materials or equipment delivered to site. Help identify and report any hazards, damage, or issues encountered during works. Maintain a professional and cooperative attitude while working in occupied areas.

Requirements and skills:



Essential:



Some hands-on experience with manual work such as basic building, repairs, or installation tasks. Competent using basic hand tools and small power tools (e.g. drills, saws). Physically fit and capable of lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods. Able to follow instructions accurately and work under close supervision. Awareness of site safety requirements and willingness to follow health & safety protocols.

Desirable:



Experience working in a factory or office fit-out environment. Basic carpentry, plumbing, or building skills. Knowledge of safe lifting techniques and use of lifting equipment (training can be provided).
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: 13.50-15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
