We are seeking a dedicated, passionate and energetic after school club leaders. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to inspiring our students and helping them to achieve their goals and foster a love for learning. Successful candidates will be able to commit to the full school term (Sept-Dec) and is therefore not suitable for performers/artists who are currently auditioning for autumn term roles/rehearsals . This role would suit a gap year student or trainee teacher with level 3 (A Level/Btech) performing arts training. The role involves working across three schools in Woking all of which are within a 5-10 minute drive of each other. Therefore candidates are required to hold a valid UK driving license and access to their own vehicle. After school club hours are between the hours of 3pm and 6pm Tues-Thurs. Further opportunities to tutor 1:1 LAMDA students (weekdays after school and Saturdays are available to the right candidate). This role involves working closely with students between the ages of 7 and 16 and includes the planning of sessions in preparation for LAMDA exams. Club leader positions start week commencing 8th September and therefore, candidates must be in possession of an enhanced DBS certificate and ideally subscribed to the update service. The ideal candidate will be confident in their own abilities, work with initiative, have previous experience of teaching children in a club setting, be skilful in creating engaging plans, tailored to meet the needs of the individual students. Candidates will require at least two references. Successful candidates will continue the high standard of teaching and mentoring to ensure a positive and fun educational experience.
Duties
leading and teaching LAMDA acting (performance syllabus) in a group setting - musical theatre and drama clubs
Plan and deliver fun, highly engaging sessions which progress students both in skill and confidence. LAMDA Club specific, in preparation for LAMDA examinations - overseen by the company Principal/Director
Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding progress and specifying areas for improvement to students
Feeding back to the company Principal/Director weekly to gain support and direction
Employ various teaching methods to engage students and enhance their understanding of the material.
Support all students by adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and encouragement to foster growth and ensure progress.
Maintain a professional, safe and supportive learning environment that promotes confidence and curiosity.
Inspire students by modelling and leading through being a creative and nurturing professional role model

Skills
Proven experience in tutoring or teaching children aged between 5 and 13
An understanding of LAMDA syllabus
Performing arts training (minimum of Level 3)
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information to students and parents
Knowledge of special education practices is highly desirable, enabling support for diverse learning needs.
Strong organisational skills to manage planning ahead and track student progress effectively
A kind, patient and empathetic approach towards children, fostering a nurturing and inspiring atmosphere for learning
