Land and Property Surveyor Job description
Property Services is looking to recruit a motivated MRICS Valuation / Development Surveyor, with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
The successful candidate will lead on a broad range of projects involving acquisition, disposal and valuation work, maximising the value of our property holdings and proactively supporting the delivery of the Council&xc2xa9s vision for inclusive growth.
Preferably a Registered Valuer, you will be professionally competent in carrying out valuations for a variety of purposes including purchase and sale, development appraisal and viability assessments, insurance and financial accounting.
You will have experience of working within a complex organisation, dealing with a wide variety of public/private and third sector stakeholders. Experience of working in a political environment and a client facing role would be an advantage.
You will have well developed negotiation skills, strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of innovative thinking and providing holistic property solutions.
Importantly, you will have a strong customer focus and be able to act as a professional adviser to a range of clients on complex and contentious property issues. Demonstrable experience in collaborating with and influencing colleagues across different Service areas to achieve better outcomes is essential.
To be successful you will also have excellent communication and IT skills; good planning and organising skills and a full driving licence.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
