We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Associate Landscape Architect to join our growing Landscape Architecture team working on a broad range of landscape projects across the UK. Our projects range in scale across energy / renewable energy and resources projects, transport and nationally significant infrastructure projects, commercial, industrial, regeneration and residential schemes.


This role presents a fantastic opportunity for you to take your career as an experienced landscape consultant to the next level, working at the heart of our interdisciplinary teams and providing valued landscape consultancy advice. As part of your role, you will develop your client network, contributing to the project portfolio for the team.


You will work as part of our collaborative UK Landscape Architecture team, which includes senior colleagues and landscape planning and design specialists in our hub offices of Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, London, Reading, Warrington and Edinburgh. This role is based in our Central Manchester office, with hybrid working allowing for a mix of in-office and home working. Our offices are friendly and sociable places offering a supportive working environment.


About you




To be considered for this opportunity you will need to be able to demonstrate strong skills and experience within the following areas:


Preliminary landscape / townscape and visual appraisals to inform the development process

Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments for energy / renewable energy projects, commercial projects and / or regeneration and residential projects

Conceptual and strategic design sketches as appropriate

The ability to work in an interdisciplinary way

Preparation of project scopes and fee proposals for complex development projects

Leading landscape architecture input to projects and mentoring junior staff through your project work

It would be advantageous for you to demonstrate skills and experience in any of the following:


Landscape expert witness experience at planning appeals and / or DCO hearings

Nationally significant infrastructure projects

Townscape and visual impact assessments and tall building assessments

Strategic assessments of designations such as Green Belts and Strategic Gaps

Landscape Capacity and Sensitivity Studies and character assessments

Input to Vision Documents, Design and Access Statements and Design Codes
