An exciting opportunity has become available to work as a Landscape Officer within the Council's Environmental Planning Team, in the Planning Department.



The Environmental Planning Team is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals within the Planning Department, providing specialist advice on landscape architecture, design, arboriculture, ecology and heritage with a mission to improve and protect the varied and high quality environments of Cheshire East.



ABOUT THE ROLE



As a Landscape Officer, you will help shape development to secure the best landscape outcomes by managing a case load of planning consultations and appeals. The role provides the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects including:


Preparing and managing landscape planning consultations, including visual and landscape assessment advice; Advising on landscape design matters across a variety of projects, and managing implementation; and Developing landscape guidance and policy for the Local Plan.

Cheshire East is a large and busy Planning Authority with a wealth of landscape quality ranging from the Peak Park fringe to the Cheshire plain. This gives us a really diverse portfolio of work and great challenges to respond to. ABOUT YOU



You will:


Have a degree level qualification within Landscape Architecture or similar Be a member of the Landscape Institute Have post-qualification experience dealing with planning applications from the public or private sector Have an understanding of Landscape Visual Impact Assessment Be an effective team player with great communication skills Have a flexible approach to work Have a passion for the built environment and the role landscape architecture plays within it

The ability to travel throughout Cheshire East and a full UK driving license are required.
