Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and functional aspects of outdoor spaces, ensuring that gardens, lawns, and landscapes are well-kept and thriving. This role requires a combination of physical stamina, attention to detail, and a passion for groundskeeping.

Duties

Maintain and care for gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas through regular mowing, trimming, and weeding. Irrigate plants and lawns effectively to promote healthy growth. Utilise hand tools and power tools for various landscaping tasks such as digging, building garden beds, and planting. Perform landscape maintenance duties including mulching, edging, and seasonal planting. Conduct routine inspections of grounds to identify areas needing attention or repair. Assist in the installation of new plants, trees, and shrubs as directed. Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order; report any mechanical issues as necessary. Work collaboratively with team members to achieve maintenance goals efficiently.

Requirements

Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is preferred but not essential. Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in gardening and landscaping tasks. Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues is advantageous. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. A valid driving licence may be required for transportation between job sites. Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
