Responsibilities & Qualifications

Specifically, a Language Specialist - Compliance will:

  • First Line review (FLR)
  • Review electronic and audio communications against regulatory and internal guidelines on market abuse, insider trading and code of conduct requirements, and escalate relevant cases to business unit contacts for resolution.
  • Complete foreign language reviews and translations, as needed.
  • Deliver efficient, high quality and timely output in completing daily review allocation targets
  • Complete required training on review techniques, product and regulatory developments to improve efficiency and subject matter expertise.
  • Second Line Review (SLR)
  • Determine whether cases raised by FLR should be escalated to the relevant BU and provide rationale and constructive feedback on rejected cases.
  • Conduct oversight of start to end process and ensure cases are escalated correctly and that comments provided are clear and concise.
  • Quality Control (QC)
  • Allocate Service Level Agreement (SLA 5%) QC reviews and any additional QC required (new starters, off-boarding, targeted higher risk areas).
  • Conduct QC review, raise missed cases and mentor analysts to establish root cause of error and ensure there are no gaps in knowledge or understanding.
  • Upload monthly QC Log to Sharepoint Managers\xe2\x80\x99 folder.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Pass the CISI Introduction to Securities and Investment (Level 3) as a mandatory customer requirement during probationary period.
  • Complete ad-hoc monitoring/review requirements as and when required by the customer.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel with intermediate knowledge of MS PowerPoint and Word
  • Prior experience with any Compliance software will be an added advantage
  • At least 3-5 years experience working in a reporting, MIS or a data analyst role
  • Prior experience or interest in regulatory compliance and investment banking is a plus
  • Graduate or equivalent experience
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, statistics or related field
  • Fluency in English and at least one of the following foreign language specialisation is required: German (preferred)/French/Spanish/Italian
