Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laser Programmer/CAD Technician to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining laser cutting equipment, ensuring precise fabrication of components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in fabrication processes to contribute to high-quality production standards.

Duties

Daily programming of a Bystronic laser cutting machine. Assist planning and production with CAD tasks such as design/modify part drawings for pricing or manufacture. Day to day management/supervision of the laser operating staff Management of the cutting machine to ensure maintenance tasks are in date. Liaise with sales team to produce laser only quotations. Assist in the day to day use of our MRP system. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards

Requirements

Proven experience in fabrication, grinding, welding, or related mechanical work is highly desirable Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in sheet metal work and assembly processes. Ability to interpret technical drawings and perform basic maths calculations accurately Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques is advantageous Good organisational skills with attention to detail and safety procedures Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Prior experience operating laser cutting equipment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate Basic understanding of safety protocols related to laser machinery and manufacturing environments
