Creation of quotations via the development of customer drawings and CAD data, ranging from single sheet metal components to full multi-level assemblies.
Re-costing and updating of pricing for all on-going legacy production work as required.
Data input and analysis to a production management and planning system (MRP).
Some purchasing duties for raw materials, fasteners, fittings and general engineering consumables.
Communicating requirements to subcontractors regarding finishing and machining needs.
Liaise with customers regarding product Design For Manufacture issues and identifying cost reduction potentials.
General CAD 2D drawing creation and interrogation. 3D not essential.
Skills
Proficiency in TIG welding and other welding methods relevant to standards
Experience with hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication processes
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
Basic mathematical skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during fabrication
Familiarity with assembly procedures and quality control protocols
Ability to work accurately under pressure while maintaining high safety standards
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Prior experience in working with sheet metal, mechanical components, or similar manufacturing environments is desirable
