We are currently looking for a skilled

Laser Operator

to join our team. In this role, you will operate our laser cutting machinery to supply the workshop with flat and sectioned steel components. This is a hands-on, physical position that requires mechanical aptitude, basic maths skills, and the ability to manage your own workload and priorities effectively.

Candidates must be motivated, hardworking, and eager to learn and adapt. A willingness to travel to client sites across the UK is essential.

Role and Responsibilities:

Process data through software to generate nesting information for use on the Amada fibre laser with rotary indexing head. Experience operating Amada machinery is preferred, with training opportunities available to support future development in line with company needs. Engage with customers to handle enquiries and process work where required. Work unsupervised and as part of the wider fabrication team. Manage a variety of jobs independently, including setting machine tools. Carry out basic stock control with a proactive, forward-thinking approach. Perform in-process inspections at the required intervals and to the correct standards.

Requirements:

- Previous experience operating laser cutting machines is essential
- Proficient in using hand tools and tooling
- Able to handle client interaction
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Flexibility to working patterns and be able to self manage workload / priorities
- Computer literacy
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From 13.73 per hour Dependent on experience
