Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Operator to join our clients Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting machines to produce high-quality sheet metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, as well as the ability to work with precision tools and equipment. The Laser Operator will play a crucial part in ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities

Operate laser cutting machines safely and efficiently to fabricate sheet metal components. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser equipment to ensure optimal performance. Assemble, grind, and weld components as required for production. Interpret technical drawings and specifications to accurately produce parts. Use hand tools and tooling effectively to complete fabrication tasks. Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure adherence to specifications. Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and improve efficiency. Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.

Requirements

Proficient in basic maths for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks. Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in operating machinery, particularly laser cutting equipment. Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes, including assembling, grinding, and welding. Ability to use hand tools and tooling effectively in a engineering environment. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
