Job Purpose


We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Technician to join our team. The Laser Technician will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and calibrating laser cutting equipment for a variety of applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.


Key Responsibilities:

Call pre-made programs and jobs to achieve production requirements. Load and unload material to the laser bed using MHE equipment as required. Perform TPM of laser systems to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs as needed. Monitor and maintain inventory of laser components and consumables. Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with other team members to optimize processes and improve efficiency. Keep detailed records of work performed and equipment maintenance. Collaborating with engineers to develop new laser processes or applications. Any other reasonable requests that may made by the Company or your Line Manager All employees have a duty of care to follow / adhere to all Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) procedures, processes, and challenge unsafe acts & behaviours.


Candidate:

Enthusiastic, conscientious, results orientated, self-motivated with a 'can do' attitude. Developing strong working relationships with the project team and customers Good communicator to all levels in and outside of the business Ability to work well under pressure in a demanding environment. Good planning and organisational skills Willingness to learn and apply the Unipart Way principles and tools, including OCCs Hands-on experience with laser equipment installation and configuration. Familiarity with the specific types of laser systems and processes used in manufacturing. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Good computer skills with CAM skills a bonus * Knowledge of laser safety protocols and regulations
