We are currently seeking a dedicated and organised
Laundry Assistant
to join our friendly team. In this vital role, you will play a key part in ensuring our residents' clothing and linen are clean, fresh, and handled with the utmost care and respect.
What you'll be doing:
Washing, drying, ironing, and folding residents' personal clothing and care home linen.
Sorting and preparing laundry for washing, adhering to infection control policies.
Ensuring all items are returned promptly to the correct residents.
Maintaining a clean and organised laundry room, including regular cleaning of machines and surfaces.
Reporting any maintenance issues with laundry equipment.
Working respectfully and discreetly in a dementia-friendly environment, understanding the importance of personal belongings and routines.
Adhering to all health and safety regulations and care home policies.
What we're looking for:
Previous experience in a laundry role, ideally within a care setting, is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.
A strong understanding of hygiene and infection control principles.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Reliable, punctual, and a good team player.
A compassionate and empathetic nature, with an understanding of the needs of individuals living with dementia.
Ability to manage physical tasks associated with laundry duties (e.g., lifting laundry bags).
Good communication skills.
