Job Title: Law Costs Draftsperson / Costs Lawyer (Hybrid)

About the Role:

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and respected law firm based in central Manchester. They are seeking an experienced

Law Costs Draftsperson or Costs Lawyer

to join their dedicated in-house Costs team.


This is an exciting opportunity for a legal costs professional with a minimum of 3 years' experience, especially in

Housing Disrepair (HDR)

and

Financial Mis-Selling (FMS)

cases. The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload of high-value matters and contribute to all aspects of legal costs drafting, budgeting, negotiations, and assessment preparation.

Draft

Points of Dispute

and

Replies

Handle

costs negotiations

with opposing solicitors and insurers Draft

Statements of Costs for Summary Assessment

Prepare

Schedules of Costs

for negotiations Manage

Applications

for interim costs certificates and payments on account Prepare and issue

Part 8 Proceedings

Request

Default Costs Certificates

, where appropriate Provide clear and accurate

costs-related legal advice

to clients Prepare

Provisional and Detailed Assessment

documents

What We're Looking For:

Minimum 3 years' experience

in legal costs work within a fast-paced, high-volume setting Strong experience in

HDR and/or FMS casework

preferred Proficiency with

Proclaim

case management system Highly organised with excellent attention to detail Strong written and verbal

communication skills

Confident using

Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Experience with the

Electronic Bill of Costs
