The role:
As our LDPE Plastic Recycling Extruder Operator, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining the extrusion equipment to process low?density polyethylene (LDPE) into recycled pellets/granules for reuse. You will work with other production staff to meet production targets, maintain safety and quality standards, and help minimise waste/scrap.
Key responsibilities:
Set-up, start?up and shutdown of extrusion line(s) processing LDPE feedstock.
Prepare raw material (LDPE clean film) and ensure correct feeding into shredder.
Monitor and adjust machine parameters (temperature zones, screw/amperage, pressure, feed?rate) to achieve required flow rate and product specification.
Change dies, filters, screens and carry out periodic purging of extruder as required.
Conduct quality checks on output (pellet size, melt flow, visual appearance) and record production/maintenance data.
Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning; report mechanical issues promptly.
Maintain good housekeeping in the work area; ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
Work collaboratively with the quality, maintenance and production teams to meet performance targets and minimise scrap.
Required skills:
Previous experience operating extrusion equipment in plastics recycling.

Good understanding of polymer processing / extrusion is a plus (LDPE/HDPE/PP familiarity advantageous).
Ability to interpret production orders, perform basic quality checks, read measuring tools.
Physically capable (standing for long periods, lifting raw material sacks/bales).
Strong safety mindset, good team?working, flexible to shift work and overtime if required.
Good communication skills and reliable attendance.
