As a Recycling Plant Operator at Aquavitrum, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to promote sustainability and environmental responsibility. You'll be at the heart of Aquavitrum's operations, ensuring that recyclable materials are processed efficiently and safely. Your expertise in operating our recycling machinery will directly contribute to reducing waste and enhancing recycling efforts.
This roll is to pro-actively monitor the recycling process on a day to day shift (Monday-Friday). Some occasional overtime and Saturday working is available during busy periods.
You will be involved in maintenance activities and modifications to our plant during shut-down periods.

What you'll do
Operate our state of the art Glass Recycling plant, at our site in Eastleigh, Hampshire.
Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the production plant equipment whilst the plant is running (greasing of machinery and conveyors, cleaning of screens/motors etc)
Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
Record maintenance/greasing activities on our daily logging system (I-pad provided)
Collaborate with team members to ensure the correct quantities of materials are fed into the recycling plant, ensuring optimal efficiency of the recycling process.
Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and participate in maintenance activities as required.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure workplace for yourself and your colleagues.
Provide cover for other area's of the plant/business during periods of annual leave.
Basic qualifications
Familiarity with recycling or waste handling machinery and equipment is an advantage
Basic mechanical knowledge.
Punctual time keeping.
Good work ethic.
Physically fit, some heavy lifting may be required.
Strong commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards within the plant and workshops.
Must be able to read/write and speak fluent English
Preferred qualifications
Experience operating recycling/waste handling machinery and conveyors
Knowledge of water treatment is an advantage
Mechanical/electrical engineering knowledge (replacing bearings, wear plates, motors etc)
Experience using Loading shovels and Telehandlers is an advantage (training can be provided for the right candidate)
