As Lead Auditor, you will, add value, strengthen, and safeguard the Group by providing independent and objective assurance through the effective and timely delivery of the audit plan.


You'll work collaboratively with key stakeholders to agree on actions and ensure timely follow-up, supporting continuous improvement and strong governance across the Group.

Key Responsibilities:



Planning:



Lead the planning of low complexity audits across business areas, with guidance from an Audit Manager where appropriate. Define audit scope, objectives, and approach, and prepare audit scope memos for review and agreement. Conduct risk assessments and develop audit strategies aligned with internal audit methodology. Assist Audit Manager on complex audits in meeting planning objectives set out above.

Fieldwork:



Deliver audit fieldwork independently, testing key controls and evaluating the effectiveness of risk management and governance processes. Ensure audit work is completed to a high standard, with clear documentation and adherence to methodology. Identify control weaknesses and areas for improvement and assess the risk and control culture of the area under review.

Reporting:




For low complexity audits

Draft audit reports, including findings, root causes, and agreed actions. Lead discussions of audit findings with stakeholders and support negotiation of appropriate management actions with support from Audit Managers / HOIA as required. Ensure audit conclusions are evidence-based, accurate, and robust.

Follow-ups:



Monitor and test the implementation of agreed audit actions. Maintain effective stakeholder relationships and support continuous improvement in control environments.

What will make you stand out?



Experience of performing or assisting internal audit, risk, compliance or first line QA activity. Experience of presenting to and negotiating with senior management.
