The Head Coach will be responsible for delivering high-quality, professional training sessions to players within Ferdinand Collective Devon. They will support the holistic development of players by nurturing their technical, tactical, physical, and personal growth. The role requires a commitment to the Collective's mission of "Empowering the player, Building the person," and a focus on creating pathways for young talent to progress into professional football, education, or employment opportunities.
Coaching and Player Development:
Plan and deliver structured, age-appropriate training sessions that align with the curriculum.
Focus on the technical, tactical, and psychological development of players.
Conduct regular player reviews and create individual development plans
Match Day Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage Academy teams during match days.
Analyze team and player performances to inform future training plans.
Pathways and Progression:
Identify and support talented players in progressing to professional clubs, further education, or career opportunities.
Foster an environment that promotes learning and personal growth.
Compliance and Safeguarding:
Ensure all activities comply with safeguarding policies and health & safety regulations.
Maintain up-to-date first aid, safeguarding, and relevant coaching certifications.
Report any safeguarding concerns promptly in line with organizational procedures.
Communication and Collaboration:
Maintain clear communication with players, parents, and other staff members.
Collaborate with other coaches to ensure consistency and alignment within the Academy.
Provide regular feedback and reports to the Director.
Community Engagement:
Support initiatives that promote the Ferdinand Collective's commitment to inclusivity and community outreach.
Actively encourage participation from underrepresented groups, including girls and players from lower-income communities.
Qualifications
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
UEFA A/B Minimum Coaching License.
Valid First Aid and Safeguarding Certificates.
Proven experience coaching in an academy or professional football environment.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with performance analysis or sports science integration.
Background in mentoring or developing players from diverse communities.
AYA Licence
Skills and Attributes:
Strong technical and tactical coaching knowledge.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
