We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to lead kitchen operations and ensure the highest standards of food preparation and safety. The candidate will be expected to provide lunch for 45 residents and main meal for 80 residents on a daily basis. The meal is taken from a four week rolling menu. The candidate will ideally have experience catering for a large clientele group and a passion for creating exceptional meals. This role requires strong organisational skills to lead resident volunteers, maintain a harmonious working environment, and deliver hearty and nutritious meals to our vulnerable residents.

Willingness to undertake additional training courses as required.
A driving licence and access to own vehicle is desirable.
Duties
Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring all food is prepared to the highest quality standards.
Ensuring that you remain within the budgets set for provisions when ordering stock for the service.
Train and mentor volunteer residents in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety protocols.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment.
Collaborate with management to develop menus.
Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Build and maintain positive relationships with residents.
Meeting dietary requirements.
Recording food temperatures on relevant log sheets and maintaining due diligence.
Ensure any maintenance issues are reported to the maintenance officer in a timely manner.
To carryout deep cleans in the building as required or requested by your line manager.
Skills
Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen setting.
Strong culinary skills with an understanding of various cooking techniques, allergies, and dietary requirements.
Previous kitchen or catering experience is essential.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Strong communication skills.
Knowledge of COSHH, manual handling, due diligence, allergies, and food hygiene procedures.
The ability to prepare a large quantity of meals to be ready for set meal times.
