Lead Data Engineer - London - \xc2\xa390,000 - \xc2\xa3120,000 pa - Hybrid Working

JNC are working with a growing London based insurance company that are looking for Lead Data Engineer to join and lead their Data Engineering team and focus on designing and developing efficient data solutions within an Azure cloud native environment.

This is an exciting time to join and one where you will get the chance to work within a greenfield environment and focus on a brand-new Azure and Databricks based platform that is being designed and developed from the ground up.

IMPORTANT: It is therefore essential that the Lead Data Engineer joining has lead experience and in depth Azure Data Factory (ADF), DatabBricks, SQL, and Python skills.

Responsibilities:

• Build Data Solutions to solve various business problems.
• Use database tools and cloud based data services such as Azure & Databricks for design and implementation.
• Deploy Data Pipelines and applications using DevOps best practices.
• Identify and understand opportunities to exploit data to improve business decision making.
• Support the wider data team through knowledge sharing and mentoring.
• Provide expertise in relation to data engineering, analysis, orchestrations and enrichment.

Core Skills & Experience:

• Strong Data Engineering experience.
• Strong skills with cloud-based data services Azure & Databricks
• Strong Skills with data platforms using SQL, Python and Azure.
• Experience building Data Pipelines
• Knowledge of Azure LakeHouse.
• Python Skills are essential.
• Understanding of best practices for Source Control tooling like GitHub/BitBucket
• Understanding of various development Methodologies like TDD, DevOps etc
