Join us as a Lead Developer within our Accounting Team and help build the next generation platform on revenue accounting reporting and be part of multiyear finance transformation journey. As a Lead Developer on this strategic team, you'll contribute to critical systems and cloud native tools that directly impact how our global engineering organization develops, tests, and deploys software. You'll work alongside experienced engineers on platform services, developer tooling, and accounting projects that enable teams across accounting work more efficiently. To be successful as a Lead Developer, you should have:

Proficiency in Java development and ETL Skills Advanced knowledge of AWS and other public cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure Experience designing and implementing distributed systems with microservices architecture and applying software design patterns

Additional skills include:

Data warehouse with good working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline design, implementation, and optimization with Gitlab Other scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby)

This role will be based in our Northampton office.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives. Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing. Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions. Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
