Functional area: Engineering

General: Technical Overview

  • Serves as specialist for all relevant technical aspects, incl. key recommendations/ escalations, in relation to \xe2\x80\x9cAnalyst -Orography\xe2\x80\x9d (resource variation across a windfarm and it\'s causes, e.g. orography and forestry, and there measurement thereof), with strong business & stakeholder orientation,
  • Acts as key advisor to the Chief Engineer Wind Turbine and the Engineering management for all relevant technical decisions related to the above-mentioned subject matter,
  • Drives networking and cross-fertilization across regions and technologies in her/his subject matter of expertise, fostering a global technical \xe2\x80\x9cAnalyst - Orography\xe2\x80\x9d community, share of best practice and consistency of approach with an eye on optimization and sustainability.
  • Establishes and approves global technical standards, specifications and procedures for the sub-discipline \xe2\x80\x9cAnalyst - Orography\xe2\x80\x9d in line with safety and business needs, strategic targets and industry\'s latest technical development,
  • Participates or leads significant and complex international projects of high risk, as well as global technology initiatives related to the expert subject matter;
  • Develops and approves for \xe2\x80\x9cAnalyst - Orography\xe2\x80\x9d related aspects of technical designs, Root Cause Analyses, new built projects and plant modifications
Key responsibilities

Competency development, strategy formation, innovation, and standardization
  • Strives to share best practice and consistency of approach across regional teams in relation to \xe2\x80\x9cAnalyst - Orography\xe2\x80\x9d with an eye on LCOE Optimization, whilst chasing state of the art technical solutions and innovation, to ensure that the strategy meets business needs.
  • Specialist for the sub-discipline \xe2\x80\x9cAnalyst - Orography\xe2\x80\x9d with global accountability for maintaining & growing technical competence in line with safety and business needs, strategic targets and industry\'s latest technical development,
  • Align for the \xe2\x80\x9cAnalyst - Orography\xe2\x80\x9d content across regional and local requirements as well as hosting the overview of the global and local document structure and needs. Approve global technical documents for core discipline,
  • Retain oversight of status of innovation projects for their core discipline, lead on prioritization and evaluation of the innovation projects as well as support in fostering implementation across regions,
  • Provides framework for mentoring/coaching engineers in the \xe2\x80\x9cAnalyst - Orography\xe2\x80\x9d sub-discipline in the development of their technical skills,
  • Evaluates technical readiness of respective engineers to progress in the Technical Career Path (TCP) in the \xe2\x80\x9cAnalyst - Orography\xe2\x80\x9d sub-discipline.
  • Uncover emerging issues or needs, identifying potential causes, barriers and key stakeholders as well as related issues. Think strategically forward and 360\xc2\xb0 view on technology assessment.
  • Has a good knowledge of the full EPE and layout design process, and is able to lead and approve work across the whole process.
Influencing the industry and external representation
  • Influences industry trends and standards to the benefit of the business and acts as key contributor to the international standard committees for \xe2\x80\x9cAnalyst - Orography\xe2\x80\x9d leveraging strong communication and leadership skills
  • Serves as ambassador in promoting the external reputation of the company\'s Engineering excellence (e.g., towards future partners, the supply chain, regulators, standards institutions) in relation to the expert subject matter.

Functional Technical Skills in Career Level

Profound technical skills and qualification with regards to the Engineering discipline \xe2\x80\x9cAnalyst - Orography\xe2\x80\x9d in accordance with RWE Technical Career Path requirements.

Education and experience
  • University / Post Graduate (Master Degree) or Bachelor Degree in combination with completed vocational training
  • Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job-related experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level (10+ years). Managerial experience is not relevant for the role. Experience of planning and managing resources to deliver predetermined objectives might be considered as an advantage.
  • English mandatory, additional languages are an advantage
