As Lead Fabricator you will be responsible for the training & development of the Fabrication team, whilst ensuring health and safety requirements are met and safe use of equipment followed. You will also be responsible for ensuring all work completed with the department meets required quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Ensure H&S requirements are met, ensure your team works in a safe environment through maintaining H&S procedure and work in a safe manner,
Ensure when parts are received in, they are quantity and quality checked reporting to Engineering/Procurement where applicable,
Ensure that parts that are sent for plating/powder-coating have been stamped and quality checked,
Liaise with relevant departments when levels of parts/products are running low to ensure continuity of parts/products/tolls and consumable & prevent any knock-on effects,
Ensure all interconnecting components are tested using relevant jigs and critical measurements,
Use stock management system to ensure required levels are accurately maintained using weekly cycle counts and ensure all stock is located in designated areas,
Work with engineering team to review all con-conformance reports (NCR) relating to BOMs and Fabrication issues,
Train, manage and lead fabrication employees, record and manage individual staff attendance and timekeeping,
Responsible for allocating workloads to the team, and for ensuring required times are being adhered to, and recorded via stock management system,
Manage the supply of pre-fabricated kits to individual fabricators,
Ensure the fabrication team are working to the latest revision drawings and specifications supplied by Engineering/Procurement,
Complete general welding, fabricating, and fitting of our vehicle conversions,
Take ownership of all operations within the Fabrication team to drive continuous improvement and improve efficiencies,
Essential Criteria
Demonstrable experience in welding and fabrication,
Experience in supervisory or leadership role,
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings,
Excellent organisational and communication skills,
Strong attention to detail with the ability to solve problems effectively,
Proficient in using Microsoft packages (including excel, word, outlook),
Experience using stock management systems (advantageous),
Proficiency in carrying out basic testing and recording test reports,
Ability to work under pressure using own initiative,
