The Person
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Lead Instructor to bring farm-based learning to life! You'll lead exciting, hands-on activities that spark curiosity and confidence, all tailored for young people with SEN. Application Criteria
Applicants must hold a qualification in at least one discipline, ideally two or more, such as a diploma, City and Guilds or NVQ in agriculture or land management. A valid outdoor first aid certificate and a full driver's license are also required.
Role Overview
To oversee the equipment and resources required for teaching farm activities
To ensure that Operation Procedures & Risk Assessments reflect the latest NGB guidance
Demonstrate quality teaching through the delivery of farm activities
Liaise with the Lead Instructor responsible for Quality of Education to ensure resources are available to deliver activities
Develop and maintain equipment which reflects the criteria set out by the Awarding Bodies of the activities that we deliver
To help develop the farm-based curriculum areas in liaison with the Lead for Quality of Education
Commitment to Safeguarding Children
Staff must follow safeguarding policies, attend regular training, report concerns to the DSL--immediately if serious--ensure children's safety, stay informed on live issues, and support colleagues in keeping safeguarding knowledge up to date.
