As part of the Activity Centre Team, you will drive the business performance and development of our outdoor activities, and camping business at Roadford Lake, ensuring strategic, charitable and financial targets are met or exceeded.

o A more diverse range of people and more young people are inspired by and engaged with our places and experiences
o The health and wellbeing of more people is improved.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver the activity program including clubs, courses, 'Have a Go' sessions and other activities.
Adhere to South West Lakes Trust procedures and guidelines as laid down in the Activity Center Manual.
Keep to recognised Trust, NGB and AALA safety standards for all activities
Assist the Chief Instructor in building a reliable and trustworthy team of staff at the Centre; perform staff observations, deliver morning brief and debrief from time to time.
Maintain Centre equipment and documentation to National Governing Body standards required for all inspections.
Liaise and co-operate with all other water users and operations on site on a day to day basis
Be responsible for ensuring site security and keeping safety/maintenance records of all equipment.
Assist with training of staff, work experience and volunteer personnel in health and safety and operating procedures.
Assist in raising the profile and development of the Centre
Assist in the marketing and promotion of the Centre and maintain excellent customer relations.
Accountable to the Centre Manager for health and safety of colleagues, customers, contractors and self.
Carry out such other duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Trust.
EXPERIENCE

Proven ability to teach and communicate with customers at all levels.
Proven, previous, experience of working in the industry
Knowledge of water and land based recreational activities and angling.
Experience of operating in a sales environment.

Ability to follow instructions and self-motivated to work under own direction

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
RYA Senior Dinghy/Windsurfing Instructor
RYA Dinghy and/or Windsurfing Instructor.
BC Paddle sports instructor
Valid RYA membership
Valid First Aid qualification.
Current clean driving license
Safe guarding
Desirable:
RYA Powerboat instructor, advanced dinghy instructor, race coach, keelboat instructor
BSUPA instructor qualification
Facilities management and health and safety training and experience.
