Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Fitter to work with us on a fixed term contract (with the potential to be made permanent), who will be responsible for the assembly and testing of mechanical assemblies as well as machining and welding parts.

Key Responsibilities

Working closely with the Engineering Supervisor to manage day to day engineering production plans to meet project deadlines and budgets. Liaise with the design and machining teams on drawings issued and raise any issues, as necessary. To operate the brake press, drills, welding plant and other associated plant within the engineering shop to achieve project requirements. To assist in the service & repair of plant and equipment, as requested. To monitor stock levels and check material stock availability and traceability for current and imminent production requirements. Produce as built records. Machining and welding as required - operating machines including lathes, milling, brake press. Hydraulics - working with hydraulics and appropriate standards.
