Brief Description





Are you a clinically experienced health professional with a passion for occupational health and a drive to lead impactful surveillance programmes? We're looking for a dynamic Lead Occupational Health Nurse Adviser to spearhead our Health Surveillance activities, with a particular focus on the Respiratory Crystalline Silica (RCS) face-to-face programme.


You will drive a high quality of standards of Health surveillance activities in our occupational health service with multiple sites within our vibrant regional clinic network. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of occupational health and safety are maintained, in line with Network Rail's esteemed policies.

About the role (External)



What does the average day look like?




In this role, no two days are the same. As the Clinical Lead for Health Surveillance, you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of health surveillance delivery, with a particular focus on the Respiratory Crystalline Silica (RCS) face-to-face programme. You will be responsible for the clinical review of health surveillance outcomes and lead the clinical planning and quality assurance working collaboratively with the OH Service Principal Clinical Manager, Quality & Governance Manager, and Operations Manager and stakeholders. You will ensure high standards of care and compliance. You will also develop and maintain protocols and procedures in line with HSE guidance and industry best practice, whilst actively participating in health surveillance activities to retain clinical competence. Adhering to NMC standards, you'll also design and deliver impactful training programmes to upskill the team and ensure high-quality care.


You'll uphold Network Rail's occupational health standards and help shape and improve service delivery, offering expert technical advice and driving continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will also include case management for both short- and long-term sickness absence, providing strategic input on rehabilitation and redeployment. You'll deliver insightful business reporting and analysis to support decision-making and lead on quality assurance through regular audits. With a strong focus on clinical supervision and



Essential Criteria



Registered nurse on Part 1 of the NMC Register or Part 3 Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - OH

Postgraduate qualification in OH, and proven post-graduate Occupational Health experience of working in a safety-critical environment.

Recent ,relevant knowledge and experience of Health Surveillance and managing health surveillance Programmes

Knowledge of occupational health management and risk assessment processes

Experience working in the management of a clinical environment

Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR compliance

Travel within the regional location area is essential
