Lead Occupational Therapist

York, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Come and join the one of UK's largest providers of complex care. We proudly employ over 4000+ people - no matter what your experience, we have jobs for everyone.

At Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, we don't just deliver therapy we transform lives. As our Lead Occupational Therapist, you'll take a key leadership role in a specialist service that supports adults with acquired brain injury and complex neurological conditions. Working as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team (MDT), you'll lead the way in providing innovative, person-centred rehabilitation that enables people to regain independence, confidence, and a sense of identity.

You won't just manage a team you'll mentor, guide, and inspire. You'll work directly with patients and their families to co-create meaningful therapy goals, develop complex treatment plans, and ensure every member of your team is empowered to deliver the highest standards of care.

One of our most powerful recent success stories involved a patient whose recovery was transformed by a walking football initiative. This patient, a passionate football fan before his injury, was struggling to re-engage with life. Demonstrating the kind of creativity we truly value, an Occupational Therapist on the team explored alternative therapeutic options. They connected with the York City FC Foundation, which offers walking football sessions nearby. The result? The patient experienced renewed motivation, improved balance and coordination, and most importantly a vital reconnection to his community.

This is the kind of life-changing impact you can help make happen every day.

As Lead Occupational Therapist, your vision and clinical expertise will shape how we deliver rehabilitation, embedding truly individualised care that embraces each person's values, abilities, and aspirations. You'll lead by example, foster continuous professional growth, and contribute to a culture of innovation, accountability, and compassion.
